4MAT 4 Geometry is here!
As a partner to our new 4MAT 4 Algebra Curriculum Series, About Learning is proud to announce the next in the math curriculum series, 4MAT 4 Geometry!
4MAT 4 Geometry is a full content area application that uses 4MAT to create more dynamic and engaging ways of teaching Geometry. 4MAT 4 Geometry uses larger concepts to help students find more meaning when learning.
It uses...
• Reasoning to teach geometric relationships
• Connections to teach properties of circles
• Classification to teach quadrilaterals
• Measurement to teach area and circumference
4MAT 4 Geometry includes a complete Teacher's Edition and a Student Activity Book with all of the activity pages to complete each unit. There is also a Classroom Resource Kit which includes all of the materials needed to do the hands on labs and activities.
Here is what students are saying about 4MAT 4 Geometry...
“In this math class we do many, many things. It is much different than a traditional math class, where the teacher just talks. My favorite activity was the Whose Line Is It Anyway Project.”
“I think the rotating stations helped me the most. The numerous activities and movement helped me stay focused. I really liked the human triangle with string. It was a very visual way of learning about the area of triangles, and that is how I learn best.”
“I did a very good job understanding the four points of concurrency because we made cut-outs. I pay more attention when I am actively involved, and when I have something to look at. This activity made it so much easier to understand.”
The 12 conceptual units cover the entire year-long Biology curriculum and are aligned to NSES standards. The units include:

1. Reasoning 1 | Essentials of Geometry |
2. Reasoning 2 | Reasoning and Proof |
3. Relationships 1 | Parallel and Perpendicular Lines |
4. Relationships 2 | Triangles |
5. Location | Triangles |
6. Ratios 1 | Similarity |
7. Ratios 2 | Right Triangles and Trigonometry |
8. Classification | Quadrilaterals |
9. Movement | Transformations |
10. Connections | Circles |
11. Measurement 1 | Measuring Length and Area |
